Frequently asked questions about AHAVA products

Why is it so important to cleanse our skin?

All we need to do is look at our city buildings to understand what air pollution can do to our skin. Our daily lifestyle exposes our skin to car exhaust, heating oil, cigarette smoke, as well as central heating, air conditioning and the stale air in small spaces.

Gaseous pollutants settle on our skin and mix with sebum (= sebum produced by sebaceous glands), make-up residue and other polluting elements. These toxins penetrate our top layer of the skin and saturate the natural antioxidant system, disrupting its natural protection and hydration layer.

The accumulation of impurities, pollution, excess sebum and make-up residues are one of the first causes of premature aging of the skin. A daily and thorough cleansing ritual will help delay the signs of aging and keep your skin healthier.

Are the Dead Sea ingredients too strong for sensitive skin types?

No, on the contrary. People from all over the world with very sensitive skin and even skin conditions come to the Dead Sea to immerse themselves in the mineral-rich water. Dead Sea Minerals are approved and recommended by the world’s most renowned dermatologists, both as an excellent means of relieving the symptoms of skin problems and as a daily care provider to optimally maintain healthy skin. The majority of Ahava products are approved for sensitive skin.

When and how should I use the AHAVA Serums?

Serums are usually used as an additional care product that is applied in the morning or evening under the usual day or night cream.

They generally provide a more intensive and specific treatment that depends on the condition and needs of your skin. Source mineral beauty serum is a liquid with a very light texture that gives the skin an extra wave of moisture and improves the texture of the skin thanks to a unique combination of fruit acids and our own mineral complex.

Providing constant hydration, it strengthens the skin’s protective barrier while visibly helping to reduce wrinkles.

Why does my skin feel tight from time to time?

Your skin may occasionally feel tight when the moisture balance of the upper skin is not balanced. This can happen for a variety of reasons, the most common of which are: dry air, overexposure to the sun, lack of moisture in our body, stress, fatigue, the use of certain medications and skin aging.

Why does skin get drier with age?

The skin has its own natural hydration system. As you get older, the functioning of this system diminishes and the skin’s ability to retain moisture decreases. Over time, the skin barrier becomes thinner and thinner. Cellular activity is slower. In addition, it affects the skin’s ability to attract water molecules and produce ceramides, which play a vital role in our skin’s self-hydration system.

Why are minerals so healthy for our skin?

Minerals are critical in the exchange of information between our skin cells. They ensure that the skin can perform its functions better and retain and release moisture where necessary. The following minerals are vital for the healthy functioning of our skin: magnesium, calcium, potassium and sodium, they are therefore called the Natural Moisturizing Factors (NMF).
